Original wiper arms are a straight bar type. These don't hold the wiper arm as well as the hook type ends that are on countless cars and trucks of the 1980s, 90s, and newer. There are a couple older Jeep wiper arms that halfway work on the older Fords, but don't hold the wiper blade correctly. Those Jeep arms were the inspiration for these special made arms. These arms have the correct end for 73-79 Fords (and likely others), and have the modern hook end for a wiper blade. 

During this project, we realized that 16" blades work well, so that is what we include.
