This is a complete bolt in kit designed to work on 1960s and 1970s Ford medium duty F600- and likely similar model- trucks that gives you a modern firewall mounted Super Duty 11" dual diaphragm power brake booster and 1.5" bore master cylinder. This does away with the slave system and under mountd booster. This kit installs in about an hour and requires no cutting or permanent modification. It works with your existing brake pedal. This is meant to work with F600 applications having a factory firewall mounted master cylinder held on by 4 bolts with a 2.5" by 5.0" pattern.
This setup puts out about 1600 psi as well as a large amount of fluid volume and is a great match for medium duty drum brakes. This brake booster is a whopping 11" dual diaphragm. That's about as big as they get. With medium duty applications, valve cover clearance is not an isuse.
For the brake line routing, you need to run two new lines (usually 1/4") from the new master cylinder down to a proportioning valve. The valve can be anywhere, but on the frame near the factory junction block is most convenient. Then the valve outputs get connected to each of the two existing circuits that feed each of the front/rear axles. This way you separate out two circuits and you reuse as much of the existing lines as possible. Brake lines and proportioning valve are not included.
This will likely not be powerful enough for F700 and larger trucks. Those truck seem to have come with 12" dual diaphragm boosters and I expect this 11" system won't work well in their place. Measure your original frame booster. If 11" diameter, this system is a god fit. if 12" diameter, you probably won't be happy with this kit.
Included parts with this kit:
Firewall to SD booster bracket, painted black
Super Duty Brake Booster 1999-2004 style (Motorcraft 5C7Z2005A or equivalent)
Super Duty Master Cylinder (Motorcaft 5C3Z2140MA is 1.375" and 5C3Z2140FA is 1.5" bore)
Custom steel bushing designed to mate SD booster eyelet to factory bake pedal
High quality grade 8 hardware for entire install
Flare adapter fittings- to connect standard 7/16" inverted flare fittings to the master cylinder (common on 1/4" lines)
Flare plugs- for the unnecesssary ports on the MC
Booster Options:
-11" dual vacuum booster, same as used on modern F550 pickups. Plenty powerful, requires vacuum source.
-Hydroboost, same as used on modern F550 pickups. Slightly more powerful, requires power steering source and additional steering plumbing. Plumbing not included, but if you message us with the lengths of hoses and types of fittings you need, we can likely put all of the plumbing together. Hydroboots costs $150 extra which does not include the plumbing parts, other than 6an fittings are included for the booster.
