This is a manifold, high pressure oil plumbing, and low pressure oil drain, for installing a low mount common rail turbo on a 1997 and older 12 valve Dodge Cummins engine. This manifold has the square ports and is not compatible with the later round port applications.
The original 12 valve manifold and turbo interfere with 1973-79 HVAC parts. Before you do away with the original system, know that your original HVAC works far better than any aftermarket system out there, especially for defrost functions. This was designed around 1973-79 Ford trucks, but it will be helpful for swaps in a variety of applications.
Besides HVAC, having the turbo lower is more convenient for exhaust and intercooler plumbing. You can use a 4" downpipe and clear the firewall using a low turbo. The intercooler piping also comes out about parallel to where your intercooler inlet will sit.
You'll need a longer drain than whats original to the 12 valve, so that is included.
A HE351CW turbo is what we recommend with these 12 valve swaps and this manifold. It is originally paired with a 5.9 engine, and orients the oil inlet and drain at correct angles in the low position. They are also affordable and work well. The common rail application would normally have an actuator solenoid. The 12 valve doesn't have that function, and the included plug solves that.
The oil plumbing is a breeze- use the 5/8 flare to 4AN fitting on the engine side, then use the M12 o ring to 4AN fitting at the turbo side, then the 4an hose to connect the two. All high quality plumbing pieces.
The manifold itself is a cast iron reproduction of an original industrial design. It accepts the HE351CW or similar turbos just fine.
