These spring brackets are designed to mount onto 1973-1979 Ford F250 2wd trucks with 37.5" wide rear frames and allow you to install either 2008-16 or 2017+ Super Duty leaf springs. Pictures with measurements are included to verify fitment. Please measure your truck before ordering.
These work well with either OEM axles or 2005+ SD axles.
Skyjacker FR173S is a 2017+ leaf option. It is fairly stout and has more load capacity than you likely need. it rides well for how stout it is.
Skyjacker FR84S is a 2008-16 leaf option. It is plenty capable and is a little softer than FR173S. It should have enough capacity for most applications other than significant towing and hauling (well beyond your frame's legal capacity).
Both 2008-16 and 2017 Super Duty leaf springs are a massive 65" eyelet to eyelet. The main difference between the two types is the 2008 style has a 20mm forward bolt while the 2017 style has a 7/8 (really a metric equivalent) forward bolt.
These brackets are often used to help lift the truck when going from 2wd to 4wd. As pictured on the tan truck, they are used with a FR173S Skyjacker 3" lift spring and without any block. FR173S is a great all around spring and can be used for most any 4wd conversion application. FR175S has a little more lift, and FR177S has a lot of lift.Every bracket uses at least one factory drilled frame hole and this makes install a lot easier. You do need to drill several 7/16" holes in your frame. The brackets work as a template for the drilling location- no guess work.
This listing includes all four brackets, enough to swap out both of your rear springs for super duty springs. 16 new 7/16" grade 8 bolts and all metal lock nuts are included.Axle Perches:All 37.5" wide rear frame applications can use these brackets along with modern super duty 10.5 sterling axles with no cutting or welding of perches.
If you have a 34" wide rear frame, check out F25CRLSD or F35RLSD
Shocks
with a 7" lifted 2wd, and more specifically with FR173S or FR84S and a 3" lift block, Bilstein 33-185552 should work well.
You will need to separately purchase these things:-Rear Super Duty leaf springs-Leaf Spring plate- the 2017 super duty trucks have the U bolt pointed downward but you can mount U bolts in the traditional upward fashion with a basic 3/8" thick steel plate that I sell-Leaf Spring Shackles for rear of leaf spring (most earlier SD shackles works)-U Bolts- upgrade to 5/8"! (see Superlift 11604 for example, but the length depends on your lift blocks)-5/8" x 5" bolts/lock nuts and 7/8" x 5" bolts/lock nuts for the 2017+ leaves
-7/16" Drill bit
