This is a complete bolt-in kit designed to work on 1960 to 1965 GM medium-duty trucks that have hydraulic clutches and a factory clutch and brake master cylinder. It may fit other years, but I am not certain of the exact years. This does NOT fit the trucks that have mechanical clutch linkage. This gives a firewall-mounted 11" Super Duty power brake booster and 1.5" bore master cylinder. It's important that you confirm fitment before ordering by comparing my pictures and measurements to your truck. There may be variations in these trucks that I am not aware of.The firewall specs are: Vertical spacing: 3.0" and Horizontal spacing: 4.0"
You will notice a dramatic increase in braking power and pedal feel, getting rid of your original system and going to this setup. This does away with the slave system and under under-mounted booster. This booster installs in about an hour and requires no cutting or permanent modification. It works with your existing brake pedal. You do need to add a proportioning valve. I don't offer this at this time, but I hope to around May 2024. A generic PV4 valve will work fine, though.
Super Duty Components:
This kit comes with a Super Duty 11" dual diaphragm booster and 1.5" bore Super Duty master cylinder. The Ford parts are excellent, reliable, and easy to source. These parts are 100% brand new and high quality throughout. The booster has a very nice black powder-coated finish that will last for years. This is the same setup that a modern F550 truck would come with. This booster/master setup will feel like it was factory-engineered for your C50.
C50 / 6000 applications require an unusually long distance from the booster to the pedal connection. Our boosters are specially made with threaded detachable ends, and we provided machined threaded extensions to accomplish the correct rod depth into the cabin
These parts put out about 1600 psi of brake fluid pressure as well as a large volume of fluid. This is a lot more brake fluid pressure than an original system, with about the same volume. It also has a mechanical advantage of directly mounting to your pedal rather than relying on a slave/master system.
