Winch version:

The winch version has a deeper body and an entirely different internal structure. The main internal structure is a large formed piece of 1/4" steel that runs outside to outside of mounting locations.

Directly behind the shackle tabs are 1/4" steel brackets welded to the bumper body and welded to the mounting locations so the shackle tabs do not rely on the bumper shell for integrity.

The bumper pictured below has two access panels. The bumper you get will not have these. We were worried about wrench access, but there is sufficient room from below to get a wrench in there.

The Warn winch pictured below is an Evo 10-S. We also tested a 12k Superwinch for clearance.

Clearance to the grill shell is tight. We designed this so the winch lightly touches the grill shell to keep the bumper as compact as possible. The bumper can be easily spaced out and away from the truck with plates in between the two mounting surfaces if this is a concern.

Highboys, and especially those with my 1/4" forward leaf spring brackets may have minor interference from that leaf spring crossmember to the winch cradle portion of this bumper.
